CALL FOR ARTISTS: CERAMIC ARTIST/ INSTRUCTOR RESIDENCY

Dharamkot Studio invites applications for a unique residency program that blends artistic practice with teaching. This opportunity is ideal for ceramic artists looking to deepen their practice while sharing their skills as part-time instructors. Residents will have dedicated space to develop their work while contributing 30 hours per week as part-time workshop instructors or teaching assistant.
Program Highlights
Residency Benefits:
- Artistic Practice: Access to a fully equipped shared studio space, materials, and kilns to create and sell your work.
- Teaching Experience: Engage with pottery enthusiasts by leading workshops, retreats, or courses.
- Financial Support: Stipend of ₹25,000–₹45,000 per month, plus commission on artwork sales through our studio shop or gallery.
- Representation : social media post about your creative journey with us and your pieces will be on our online shop.
- Meals: Lunch included.
- Accommodation: Not provided, but assistance can be offered in finding housing.
Studio Facilities:
- Fully equipped with pottery wheels, slab rollers, and electric & gas kilns (up to 1200°C).
- Stoneware and terracotta clay available.
- A variety of glaze materials (artists are expected to use materials judiciously).
Eligibility
Who Should Apply?
- Ceramic artists with 1 to 5 years of experience in hand-building and wheel-throwing.
- Individuals with prior experience in teaching or assisting pottery workshops (preferred but not mandatory).
- Artists with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Those with a clear artistic vision and a well-defined project for the residency.
Role & Responsibilities
- Teach or assist in pottery workshops, retreats, or courses (hand-building, wheel-throwing, glazing, etc.).
- Dedicate 30 hours per week to instruction and studio engagement.
- Actively contribute to the studio community while developing personal artistic work.
