1. Water Colour
Duration: 2.5 hrs

2. Thangka Sketching & Shading

Details: Thangka is a sacred and intricate form of Tibetan Buddhist art, traditionally painted on cotton or silk appliqué. These artworks are more than just paintings—they serve as visual representations of Buddhist teachings, used for meditation, rituals, and spiritual guidance.
Every element in a Thangka, from the deities and landscapes to the colors and motifs, carries deep symbolic meaning. Figures are not drawn arbitrarily; instead, their proportions and placements follow precise geometric and iconographic guidelines that have been passed down for centuries. These strict measurements ensure that the artwork maintains spiritual integrity and aligns with Buddhist principles.
In this workshop, we focus on drawing the Buddha’s face, practicing sketching and shading techniques within the given time. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, this is a wonderful opportunity to explore the meditative process of Thangka painting. 3. Kyumbur: Tibetan Wood Emboss Painting
Duration: 2.5 hrs
Fees: INR 2000

Schedule: Every Sunday, 11:30 am to 2:00 pm
Details: Kyumbur, Tibet’s ancient relief painting technique, adorns temples, furniture, and homes with sacred Buddhist symbols. Using a chalk-glue or paint-glue mix, artists create raised designs that are then painted with vibrant pigments and gold accents, adding depth and texture to the artwork.
Rooted in Tibetan Buddhist traditions, Kyumbur is both an artistic expression and a way to preserve sacred iconography.

4. Kangra Painting
Duration: 3.5 hrs
Fees: INR 2000

Details: Developed in the Kangra Valley around the 18th century, Kangra painting is a refined and expressive art form celebrated for its delicate brushwork, luminous colors, and intricate detailing. Influenced by the Bhakti movement, these paintings often depict themes from Indian mythology, particularly scenes from the love stories of Radha and Krishna, as well as nature-inspired landscapes filled with flowing rivers, lush greenery, and elegant figures.
Artists use natural pigments to achieve the signature soft yet vibrant hues, carefully blending fine details with an ethereal sense of depth and emotion. The graceful compositions, characterized by fluid lines and subtle shading, bring a dreamlike quality to the artwork, making Kangra painting one of the most cherished schools of Indian miniature art.
