In conversation with Jakub Biewald: Artist Spotlight
Last year, Jakub Biewald graced our studio, leaving behind sculptures that defy simple description. His work, a dialogue between form and void, invites contemplation beyond the tangible. Each sculpture breathes with an enigmatic presence, a testament to the ephemeral dance between fragility and strength. We’re excited to share glimpses of his creations, intricate forms that whisper of forgotten landscapes and unspoken narratives, continuing to inspire both introspection and awe within our community.
Jakub’s stay not only enriched our studio with physical works but also left an indelible mark on our creative ethos. His sculptures, marked by organic fluidity and raw texture, challenge conventional interpretations, urging viewers to see beyond the surface into the spaces between.

We are delighted to welcome Nadine Kayser, a British-Swiss ceramicist whose practice merges clay, spirituality, and meditation. Rooted in intuitive exploration, her work moves beyond traditional structures, embracing organic forms that reflect presence, intention, and the fluidity of creation. With a background in yoga and over 30 years of spiritual practice, Nadine integrates mantra and meditation into her ceramic process, allowing each piece to embody a deep sense of mindfulness and transformation.
2. Isabel : British / GermanCeramic Artist

We are thrilled to welcome Izzy Kennedy, a Berlin-based ceramic artist and founder of Fishy. Ceramics. With a background in community-driven artistic practice, Izzy bridges hand-built grotesque fish sculptures with sleek, wheel-thrown vessels, pushing the boundaries between functional and conceptual ceramics.
Through this residency, Izzy hopes to expand The Wave into a dynamic global conversation—where each ceramic fish becomes a symbol of collective strength and artistic exploration.

We are excited to welcome Irina Lapenko, a Russian ceramic artist whose work explores the rhythmic structures of nature, ancestral memory, and the interconnectedness of human experience. Working primarily with slab techniques and hand-sculpting, her pieces are distinguished by cool, laconic colors—deep blues and whites—that evoke the vastness of the sea and the pulse of natural rhythms. With a background in textiles, Irina’s ceramic practice embraces fluidity, elegance, and the meditative qualities of repetition and form.
We look forward to witnessing the unfolding of her symbolic and rhythmic ceramic language in Dharamkot.
