dharamkot studio

Nestled amid the serene pine and cedar forests of Dharamkot, just a few steps from the vibrant village and breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar mountains, Dharamkot Studio is more than just a creative retreat — it’s a sanctuary for artists, makers, and seekers from around the world.

Wondering what a typical day here feels like? From mindful mornings to immersive workshops and restful evenings, let us take you through a day in the life at Dharamkot Studio — where inspiration flows as naturally as mountain streams.

Morning: Awakening Creativity with Nature’s Rhythm

Your day begins gently, waking up to the crisp mountain air and the soft chorus of birdsong filtering through the tall pines outside your window. Rooms at Dharamkot Studio feature private balconies overlooking the majestic Dhauladhar range — a perfect spot for morning meditation, sketching, or simply breathing in the fresh Himalayan air.

By 8 AM, a wholesome, vegetarian breakfast awaits you in the studio’s cozy cafeteria. Meals are thoughtfully prepared with locally sourced ingredients and include options for vegan and gluten-free diets, ensuring every guest is nourished and energized.

Mid-Morning: Immersive Creative Workshops

By 10 or 11 AM, it’s time to step into the studio’s light-filled creative spaces. Whether you’re enrolled in pottery wheel-throwing, silkscreen printing on clay, or an advanced ceramic glazing workshop, facilitators provide hands-on guidance, fostering both technical skill and personal expression.

Small group sizes ensure plenty of one-on-one attention, while the tranquil environment invites deep focus and flow. The natural materials and tools, combined with panoramic mountain views, make every session uniquely inspiring.

Lunch and Leisure: Nourishment and Exploration

Lunch is served around 1:30 PM, offering a chance to relax and socialize with fellow creatives. The in-house café’s menu changes daily, featuring vibrant salads, hearty soups, and comforting vegetarian dishes.

After lunch, you may choose to explore Dharamkot village or nearby McLeod Ganj. Popular options include a gentle hike to the famous Triund ridge, a visit to the Dalai Lama temple complex, or browsing local Tibetan markets for handmade crafts.

Afternoon: Wellness and Creative Flow

Workshops resume in the mid-afternoon, typically from 3:30 to 5:30 PM, allowing time to experiment, refine techniques, and receive feedback from facilitators.

Between sessions, wellness activities like guided meditation, yoga, or sound bath therapy provide mental clarity and relaxation. These complementary practices nurture your creative energy and offer tools for mindfulness on and off the wheel.

Evening: Reflection and Connection

Evenings at Dharamkot Studio are moments of gentle reflection. Many guests gather for casual discussions, share their day’s work, or journal their creative journey while watching the sunset paint the mountains in hues of gold and pink.

Dinners are hearty and wholesome, often sparking conversations about art, travel, and life. Afterward, some choose to unwind with a book or stargaze on the balcony, while others join small community events like open mic nights, Edm parties at EDM hostel or art-sharing circles hosted at nearby cafés/restaurants.

There is never a dull day at the studies with plenty of activities to do in and around the Studio.

A day here balances structured learning, creative freedom, and mindful wellness — all in one of the world’s most inspiring natural settings.
